Glenn’s beginners workshop was perfect for me as I really didn’t know enough to produce the photos I could see in my head -  I knew close to nothing. Glenn’s mix of theory, practice, feedback and just plain fun have me knowing enough to experiment and produce shots with intent. Can’t speak too highly of Glenn as a teacher, Such a great experience.

About the workshop

I've been running photography workshops since 2016 with over 1,000 students attending my classes. So do you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera that you don’t feel confident enough to get off Auto mode? Do you have many photos that are lacking in punch, or just don’t feel like they are expressing the same emotion as what you saw when you took the shot? Or maybe you have a few photos that you are particularly proud of but you are just unable to replicate them again?

Join me, an award winning Canberra landscape photographer, and I’ll take you on an introduction to using your DSLR or Mirrorless camera and get you off Auto mode. This workshop is designed to give you the fundamental understanding on how different shutter speed, aperture and ISO can be used creatively to pursue the photography you love. You will also be shown considerations on how to compose a photo so it is more impactful for you, and your viewers.

You’ll accompany me along the shore of Lake Burley Griffin where you’ll be given tuition on how to use your camera in terms and language you will be able to understand. In fact, I’m is so confident that you will get immense value out of his workshop that in the event after the first hour you feel it is not for you you may leave the workshop and receive a full refund – this is my guarantee.

A great day around the lake learning the fundamentals. Glenn has plenty of knowledge and patience and makes sure everyone keeps up. I am now off the auto setting and can see instant improvement in my pics

I recently attended Glenn’s beginner’s workshop. I found it to be informative and enjoyable. Glenn is an excellent photographer and instructor, friendly, accommodating and excellent at interacting with others. The event was well organised, the selected location was scouted beforehand, interesting and good for photography. I am looking forward to attending other workshops

    Beginners workshop - very good

Posted by Jeff on 1st Mar 2024

I found this workshop very worthwhile, with easy to follow advice and instructions. Discovered some settings and buttons on my camera which I had not used or understood before. Wish I had done it a few years ago. Glen had useful practical advice and tips.

This workshop was just what I needed to take my photography to the next level. Glenn was professional yet casual and personable. Not a moment of the four-hour workshop felt wasted, and yet everything felt relaxed and well-paced. Lenses

Posted by Trish Worth on 14th Feb 2024

Glenn, I greatly enjoyed the 4-hour course, and learned a few things about my camera I didn't understand before. I didn't need info about lenses since I have only one. But I was hoping for more guidance on composition and camera settings, so I would like to have a one-on-one lesson about these things some time in the future.

    Beginners Course very worthwhile

Posted by Sonja McAuliffe on 12th Feb 2024

I had an awesome day with Glen and the other students participating in the beginner's course. Glen is a great teacher and did not make me feel silly asking the basic questions. The class helped me understand my new camera and the fundamentals of photography enough to go out and start experimenting. I will be back for more lessons. It was a very worthwhile investment. I highly recommend doing the class for anyone just starting out.

I found the lesson with Glenn throughly useful. He combined the theory and practical aspects of photography into one nice little workshop. Highly recommend this if you are starting out on DSLR photography and require some hands-on lessons from a professional.
